STOP! And Smell the Roses
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008
One of my all time favorite quotes reads, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” It is no surprise that Gandhi managed to use such benevolence while urging us not to be complete hypocrites. The next time you feel the need to utter that cliche phrase, “stop and smell the roses” to anyone, make sure you also do it yourself. Take one minute to appreciate your life as it is right now, regardless of challenges in the future or losses from the past. And should you need a physical aid to help you practice what you preach, check out the following wonderfully rosy reminders.
Teavana Sweet Lily White Tea- “You are what you eat,” or in this case sip! (Please pardon my enthusiasm for cliches today.) My beautiful friend Liz turned me onto this tea and I have been hooked ever since. Rose and marigold petals fill this infusion and induce immediate serenity after just one whiff. This white tea is said to be loaded with antioxidants (detoxifying) and just might reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Or maybe you’re so happy drinking it that any signs of aging seem momentarily insignificant. Sounds like my cup of tea!
By Terry Soleil de Rose- Indulge your complexion with this exquisite illuminator (Sunlight for light skin and Sunset for dark). A few drops will bathe your cheeks and chest in glamour. (If you have an exposed collarbone, make sure to address the area like you do your face.) Let it shine on its own over foundation or mix a drop in with your moisturizer for a quick all over glow. This just might be the cure, albeit a pricier one, for those of you who experiencing withdrawal from the discontinued Pout Illuminator.
(Available at ByTerry.com or at select boutiques nationwide)
Now go prepare for the inevitable “what are you thankful for?” dinner chatter on Thursday. And have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
